The Belmont Hotel Destroyed by Fire On
page 380 of "The Murder At Asbury Park" we find out that Raymond
C. Schindler stayed overnight at the Belmont Hotel on April 8, 1911.
(Usually the detectives stayed at the big Hotel Marlborough, on Grand
Avenue.) The photo below appears with a note informing the reader that
the Belmont is still standing. Well, as of February 27, 2006, this information
is no longer accurate -- the Belmont has burned down.
